Meet your Personal Jewelers

Personal Jewels is a group of jewelry artisans who create unique, quality, handcrafted jewelry. To most people, jewelry has special meaning. It appeals to us in many ways. We may be drawn to its artistic quality, as the perfect compliment for any outfit, or its sentimentality reminding us of someone or something dear.  Each piece is created with love and brings us joy to know that we play a small part in your celebrations and special moments. We love making you beautiful, and we hope you feel that when wearing our jewelry.

We believe wearing your Personal Jewels creation generates conversation and provides the opportunity to tell others about our unique jewelry. We are always searching for new ideas and love to create customized pieces for our customers.

Our home parties provide women convenience and the opportunity to share their jewelry selections with friends and neighbors while earning their favorite pieces. Our instructional crafting classes provide inspiration to help others fulfill their artistic talents. Helping others enhances our opportunity to grow Personal Jewels into a profitable business that supports our customers' needs both online and in person.

I started beading jewelry as a teenager while living in Panama. One day in Panama City, enjoying all the native Panamanian crafts, a particular beaded collar caught my eye. I expressed to the woman how much I admired her necklace and asked if she would show me how to do that type of beading. She was happy to share her talent with a young inquiring mind. I bought her beaded collar as inspiration to get started. I also bought seed beads, needles and thread to begin my first beaded collar. It was overwhelming but I muddled through it to finish my first piece. I've been hooked ever since although my creations have changed over the years.

I have been selling my jewelry at local art centers, through home shows, open houses and vendor fairs. I just recently and unexpectedly retired from a government contracting job and needed to find an additional avenue of income. After watching marketing promotions and hearing success stories of jewelry makers selling on the Internet and Facebook, I decided to start an online store. As a retiree from a deadline intensive job, I finally have more time to expand my jewelry business.

From childhood, jewelry has always connected me to family. My dad was away from home for long periods of time for his job but he always managed to bring my mom and the girls gifts of jewelry. They meant so much to me and I still have them today. Nothing brings me more joy than providing original jewelry to commemorate special moments and occasions for my clients.

My bead addiction began sometime in 2006. I had hosted an in-home show for a friend who made absolutely beautiful jewelry. I knew then that I had to learn how to do this. The very next day I stopped by a local bead store and signed up for a class. And then the journey began.

Over the years I have taken many classes. I had the opportunity to attend the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts in Georgia where I learned the skill of knotting. A whole week of beading! I loved every minute!

Beading has become a passion for me. My inspiration comes from the beads themselves. The beads I buy have to speak to me in some way. My favorites are the Agates and of course, pearls. Creating something that brings joy to someone brings joy to me.
